moon over HelenWe're only a short walk from downtown Alpine Helen, a shopping village with outlet stores and restaurants ... and it's just a five minute drive to historic Sautee-Nacoochee Valley, for a unique shopping and dining experience.
These beautiful north Georgia mountains abound with activities to suit everyone. Shops and art galleries are plentiful. In the heart of historic Sautee Valley in Northeast Georgia, the Old Sautee Store has been a destination for travelers for nearly 130 years.  Established in 1873, the store served the local community with general goods and was even the post office for the valley up until the 1940s. The original front portion of the store is today preserved as a museum where visitors can participate in the old time charm of the country general store.
Across the road from Old Sautee Store is Greenstone Soap Company, where you'll find an amazing collection of handmade herbal soaps, oils, and lotions. While you’re there, you can see where they make the wonderful all natural products sold in the store, stroll the herb and flower gardens (where they grow many of the herbs used in their products), and see the unique and colorful Folk Art created by Greenstone.

Sautee-Nacoochee Community Association - Located in the Appalachian foothills of Northeast Georgia, the Sautee-Nacoochee Community Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing creativity and protecting the natural and historical resources of the Sautee and Nacoochee Valleys and surrounding area. The SNCA maintains a thriving Arts & Community Center housed in a restored turn-of-the-century rural schoolhouse, offering a Theatre, Gallery, Art Studio, Museum, Environmental Studies Room, and Conference Facilities. The Association has established Sautee-Nacoochee as an official Historic District and one of "The 100 Best Small Arts Towns in America."
